I can’t even tell you how incredibly excited I was to meet this boss gal! The ever-so wonderful @moriahriona ✨

Our friendship started with IG follows, which blossomed into Zoom coffee chats to catch up on life and family, and now, we finally got to meet in person — after 5 years!

The students, the travel, the wonderful people — life changing!!

Hungry for knowledge, ready to see, draw and experience, excited to learn the histories and cultures outside of their own, each hilarious in their own individual way— all led by the fearless and exceedingly wonderful Allyce (I brought up the rear with design history and cat (student) wrangling)

I’ve learned so much about traveling and even more “fun + useless/ useful” facts to keep sharing with my future students.
The best way to travel is to just GO. New languages learned, new relationships built and old habits of fear of the unknown are broken.

But the most important thing is, I learned to be:

They put in the work and it has been an absolute honor to get to know each and every one of them. We have our class nick names, we tested the limits of hot wings and now I get to see them make their way into another year in design school.
